    Exceptional

Having prviously read some of the reviews of the Silverwell I wondered if I was staying at the same hotel, the staff were very helpful especialy as I wanted a very early breakfast one morning and were very accommodating. I would recommend this hotel to any one, it was clean and the food was excellent.

It is a beautiful house full of wonderful features, we were especially awed by the stained glass windows everywhere. We found it all very quaint and beautiful and enjoyably quirky.

The breakfasts were very good, served hot and prompt

The room was very small and basic, the on suite was also very small.

    Good

    Quiet location close to promenade

My room was with shared bathroom facilities but this was some distance away along a corridor and through a swing door, not very convenient in the middle of the night. The toilet and bathroom are together in one room and shared between 3 rooms on each floor. You get what you pay for though. En-suite double rooms look good.

    Very good

The Owner/staff was very welcoming and showed us around.. We stayed at the hotel because everything else was booked or too expensive for a weekend at the Lake district. It was good value for money and the meat break fast was very good. We had a few complaints about the hotels but because of the price we were paying, I believed that those issues were acceptable.

We were four friends staying in individual rooms with shared bathroom. Two on the top floor and two on the first floor. I was on the top floor and we were having problems with the hot water, because it was an electric shower, the water keeps going cold (low pressure) assuming that someone was using the water downstairs. Had to wait for the water to get hot again. Two of my friends were vegetarian and did tell the owner about it but when breakfast came, he did not seem to have anything for them but did manage to sort out some vegi sausage from somewhere.

we enjoyed our stay at the silverwell, it was positioned well, clean, comfy and good breakfast. the only thing is on the website it says checkout is half 11, an it was ten o clock, not that the owner minded us not leaving till 11 cos we didnt know, but it needs changing just so future guests wil know, enjoyed our stay though.

    Good

Unfortunately Booking .com had omitted to tell the owner about our booking so he was very surprised to see us. He said that all he had available was a double room but if we were willing to wait about an hour he would turn it into a twin room which we had requested. This we did and the room was basic but clean and under the circumstances we were pleased to have somewhere to sleep. The very good full English breakfast was freshly cooked to order and gluten free toast was provided without batting an eyelid. The owner knew the area well and was able to direct us to good local shops in the area.

The room we had was quite compact so was fine for our short stay but would have been small for a longer stay. I didn't see the other rooms so can't say what their size was like. The hotel is at the west end of the town which is away from the usual seaside amenities.

    Fabulous

The proximity to the sea front on the West End was very good - as was the good availability of parking. Friendly staff and owner helpful with directions. Take a left at the Clarendon hotel on the seafront when approaching from the south with sea to your right. Good breakfast and room facilities - coffe/teamaking and tv. All in all very good value for money!

Only room for improvement was I found hotel a bit cold on August bank holiday - after doing the Morecambe Bay walk it would have been nice to de-frost! Luckily I took my own hot water bottle as I couldn't work out how to turn the heating on! I had room 9 - (ensuite).

Fantastic location... whilst not directly on the sea-front, the road it is on leads to the sea-front, so sea and promenade is less than 1 minute's walk away. Close enough to train and coach station to walk to hotel comfortably, about 5 mins (noticed many of the other hotels I had looked at were actually much further away than they looked on the map!) Hotel very tastefully decorated, and well-maintained. Gorgeous stained glass windows. Better than I was expecting for the cost... felt quite luxurious. Fantastic breakfast and comfortable environment (I was travelling as a single female). Very friendly staff, courteous and welcoming. Good location for shops, market etc --all within easy walking distance --definitely the best location/area of Morecambe stay in. Would highly recommend, and would definitely stay there again.

    Very good

Couldnt eat it myself but all the other men there said the breakfast was yummy!

Went on the cheap deal but it was about £5 more expensive than similar other hotels. Would not have wanted to pay the full price. It wasnt immediately clear that the plug on one wall turned the heater on so spent the evening freezing and then kicked myself to realise I could have turned it on. Was warm and toasty when I did so.
